Fly-in Glacier Travel & Crevasse Rescue

Service Description

This is course is occurring on the Knik Glacier and we will be dropped off and picked up by Outbound Heli Adventures. The location where the Heli will unload students and gear will abound will glacier exploration possibilities, and include learning and honing basic glacier travel skills, ice climbing techniques, and the experience/skills of camping on or alongside the Knik Glacier. This course is limited to 5 students. It is recommended that students have prior backpacking experience, and you must be in good physical shape to attend this course. You will be required to pack and carry your own gear, including tent, food, cookstove, etc. The cost of this course includes drop off and pick up via helicopter and course instruction. A deposit is required to reserve your spot in this course. A gear list and full itinerary will be provided upon payment of deposit. Please note this course will begin on the evening of July 20th with our flight to the Knik Glacier, which then allows for 3 full days to explore on the glacier, returning on the evening of July 23rd.

Cancelation Policy

Our Cancellation Policy for each course listed below: Wilderness First Responder (WFR): Payment is due at the time of registration.  If you must cancel, please allow 1-week notice.  Course fees will be refunded minus 10% admin fee.  There are no refunds issued if you cancel less than 1-week prior to the course. Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT): A 1000.00 deposit is due at the time of registration. The balance is due 14 days prior to course start date. If you must cancel, please do so 14 days prior to course start date to receive your full deposit minus a 10% admin fee.  There will be no refunds issued if you cancel less than 14 days prior to course start date. All other courses unless otherwise specified: Payment is due at the time of registration.  If you must cancel, please allow 72-hour notice.  Course fees will be refunded minus 10% admin fee.  There are no refunds issued if you cancel less than 72 hours prior to the course. Please note that we have a minimum number required to host our courses.  If that number is not met the course may be postponed until a later date.  In the event this occurs, a refund will be issued or you can register for another course should you choose to do so.
